Here at Planet Loud, we’ve caught up with Aaron Stern, the drummer of Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S) to see what he thought of their phenomenom UK tour.

Planet Loud – Introduce yourself and what you do in the band..
D.R.U.G.S. – Hello my name is Aaron Stern and I play drums in D.R.U.G.S.

Planet Loud – How did you think your London show went and the tour overall?
D.R.U.G.S. – The show we played in London most definitely went down as one of the best shows we have ever played in our short touring career. You could literally hear the crowd singing louder than the actual music in the room. It got us all pretty pumped along with the rest of the dates on the tour in which the support from fans was overwhelming.

Planet Loud – When are you guys planning on coming back to the UK next?
D.R.U.G.S. – Based on the reactions from the fans on our first UK tour, we are really hoping to be back sooner rather than later. I’m sure we would all love to come back in time for festival season, but im not too certain as to if that is even possible at this point.

Planet Loud – Have you guys got any funny stories from being on tour in the UK?
D.R.U.G.S. – Our guitar player Nick and I are always looking to try the local food delicacies everywhere that we tour. Visiting Scotland, we made it our business to try Haggis and blood sausage. Our facial expressions and reactions to tasting both were pretty hilarious, I wish we had gotten it on camera. Other than that, we had two Scottish crew members who each carried heavy accents that often made it hard to understand what they were saying when they spoke too fast. Our misinterpretations of what they were actually saying were pretty funny.

Planet Loud – Where did the band name D.R.U.G.S (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows) come from?
D.R.U.G.S. – Well in the beginning, we knew that we really wanted a name that would evoke a feeling in people so that they would not forget it. DRUGS certainly did that, but we wanted it to have some more artistic integrity and so Craig came up with the acronym, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows. I love that it’s so provocative, edgy and that there are a million ways to interpret it. For me, it’s all about trusting your instincts and having faith in what you know is right.

Planet Loud – What would you say your biggest musical influences are behind your latest album?
D.R.U.G.S. – Obviously, we wanted to stick to the majority of the band members heavy rock roots, but we also wanted to add an electronic Danny Elfman-ish sort of vibe to the sound. We all knew that we wanted to reinvent our selves a bit and grow as songwriters. In order to do that we also had to not limit ourselves in our influences. Often we threw around the idea of sounding like the love child of Slipknot and Harry Potter. The result was this heavy, yet melodic record that we are all so proud of.

Planet Loud – Have you guys got anything planned for 2011/2012?
D.R.U.G.S. – Now that our record is finally out, we are planning to tour the world in support of it as much as possible. We are about to hop on the Alternative Press tour for a full US co-headlining run this March-May with Black Veil Brides. Following that, we have long stint on this summers Warped tour. Other than that, we have some overseas touring plans in the making as well. We are ready to go play wherever our music will take us and we are going to enjoy every second of the ride.
