Get Scared ( Utah, United States)
Universal Motown Records goth rockers, Get Scared, have been emerging onto the scene with an interesting mix of death, drones and rock ”n” roll. Hailing from Layton, Utah, USA, the three piece, Nicolas Mathews (vocals), Johnny B (guitar) and Bradley Lloyd (guitar), began playing, writing and recording together in the winter of 2008. Possessing a style, and sound, that feels as if the worlds of Tim Burton and Marilyn Manson have met head first in a collusion course to Hades, the band bring out the lighter side of darkness, with pop hooks and catchy vocal lines. With one full release under their studded belts, 2009”s Cheap Tricks and Theatrics, the band have recent released a new self titled EP. Vaudevillian sounds and sadistic sentiment permeate through out the tracks, as well as a peppering of tongue in cheek lyrics and self humour. They are set to release their second album, Best Kind Of Mess, which was recorded in the summer of last year, with production and engineering by John Feldmann (Atreyu, The Used, Goldfinger). Their spooky, yet light hearted video for the track Sarcasm, features grave digging, an army of rock loving zombie and other kinds of flesh eating frolics. A brilliant addition to the Get Scared repertoire, the video is a must see for the band and zombie fans alike. Previously touring with likes of Murder Dolls, Black Veil Brides and Vampires Everywhere, the band are currently playing a succession of shows, with Escape The Fate, across the United States. Pop goth, with a touch of lip gloss, Get Scared are sure to please emo, metal and alt pop in good measure. Yet to tour these shores, it will no doubt be long before their grave robbing a cemetery near you.
