Despite their sound being what most would describe as “metalcore”, as the opening track of The Reckoning kicks in, you can’t help but think of Iron Maiden. Obviously this is not a bad thing but it does tend to give off the impression that you’re going to end up listening to something akin to Trivium rather than the end result which is decidedly heavier and a lot blunter than you are probably prepared for. Still, there is nothing wrong with a stompin’ great slice of heavy metalcore to get you through the day, and as it stands, while there is little to set Kill Chambers aside from the pack, there is also little wrong with their debut offering for Rising Records.
