New Medicine ( Minneapolis, USA)

Minneapolis four-piece New Medicine formed in 2009 have shot straight out of the traps with a solid brand of good time rock. With track titles like “Laid” these guys waste no time hinting at what they’re about, while impacting the ears with infectious riffs and memorable chorus lines to leave you humming along all day. Signed to Photo Finish Records, the band released their debut album ‘Race You to the Bottom” in late summer 2010 and seem to be on the up. Their sound takes on the lighter side of the melodic pop-rock that is storming the charts and fans’ bedrooms, never sounding too heavy, but never quite over-the-top camp like some of their more popular counterparts. New Medicine manage to successfully fill the void between hard rock and chart-dominance metal-meets-pop-meets-techno, a happy medium. Set to tour with Avenged Sevenfold in 2011, which is undoubted fantastic exposure, they may not have the same record sales, but it seems safe to suggest they may amass a small, but loyal following.
