While there isn’t an abundance of bands who do the female vocal/melodic metal thing as well as Italian mob Lacuna Coil, it has to be said that the ones who do are mainly from mainland Europe with Britain lagging behind somewhat. However, the UK does occasionally toss out a band like Nya who look to have the format licked. Blends of melodic rock are mixed with a healthy dose of crunch to create a suitably powerful sound as demonstrated on impressive tracks and soon to be live favourite like Face The Music. Mix it up with the vocal dual between female vocalist Anezka Piska and male guitarist/vocalist Joe Rhodes and you have quite a hefty sound. Already receiving rave reviews on the UK underground scene, NYA are just about to issue their new four track EP and will certainly be a name to look out for in 2012 on the UK metal scene.
