UFC – Undisputed 3
PS3 Version
While the world of MMA might be a world many don’t know much about, it is hard to ignore the fact that UFC has taken MMA to the mainstream and almost ensured that the sport became a household name. Like everything done by the States, the UFC is a big, colourful, money-spinning extravaganza and, with fighters becoming household names overnight, it was just a matter of time before UFC hit games consoles.
In the games market, UFC has faced little competition upto now however, with the 3rd in the series is about to drop, the organisation now has a number of other MMA games snapping at its heels. So, with more choice for fans in this niche market, it is important that this was the biggest and baddest UFC game to date and it doesn’t take much playing time before you realise that, like the top MMA fighters, the games’ writers have upped their game to ensure that they stay ahead of the pack. Right from the offset there are a sackful of options to get through before you even get to the fight action and, from there, every aspect of the fight game appears to have been ticked off. From the training routines to sparring to fight venues, the writers of Undisputed 3 have covered every possible element of the fighting world making sure
that, if you want to get to the top, you’ll have to know your fight game inside out. Obviously, the impatient player will want to get straight into the cage but, like the unprepared fighter, rush through it and you’ll find your arse getting well and truly kicked around the cage in any one of a list of the worlds’ most glamorous UFC settings. As any fighter will tell you, nobody said that getting to the top was going to be easy. Or pretty.
With most MMA games taking the uglier, no-holds-barred route, the creators of UFC have stuck to the UFC blueprint and made sure that UFC – Undisputed 3 is as big and as breathtaking as the sport it represents.
